WHERE
IT ALL STARTED TO WHERE IT'S GOING... |
|
|
| 1990
In the beginning... |
| A
radio, equalizer and a pair of 6x9's in an old 1974 beetle
- definitely not the type of sound you'll use to impress your
friends. BUT this was only the beginning. Tweeters, subs,
an amplifier - out with the old and in with the new. |
| |
| The
need to improve the quality of the system and installation
skills became an obsession. The obsession took us many times
into the early hours of the morning. Sometimes just listening
to the improved quality and sometimes driving the neighbors
up the wall with pumping subs. We tried everything - JVC,
Panasonic, Soundstream, Pioneer, Sony, Kenwood, Proton, Boston
Acoustics, Alphine etc etc |
2001
Being at the top of the game...
|
| It
was a constant desire to learn more about the auto sound industry
and what it takes to be at the top of the game. We followed
auto sound competitions around the country and competed in
several competitions. Then we started taking the game seriously
and we met on equal foot with some of the best in the country. |
August
2001 Record breakers...
|
| The
second dB Drags competition we entered, we smashed the South
African record by 1dB. That same year at the finals we were
rated 3rd in our class in South Africa with the loudest pair
of 10" in the southern hemisphere! (Size does not always
matter) |
February
2002 Official Recordholders...
|
| 152.2dB
South African record holders with 2x 10" subs and ONE
amplifier ONE standard car battery in one standard Corsa.
AND OUR EQUIPMENT WAS NEVER EVER SPONSORED OR MODIFIED! |
| |
| An
unique self designed enclosure and a home made 7,5" aeroport
gave us the competitive edge in the SPL arena. Till today
many has tried but no one has succeeded in duplicating the
aeroport. This gave us the advantage over the competition
to become record holders at both dB Drags & IASCA at the
same time. Breaking the record is one thing but not enough
- we go back same day, same competition and break our own
new record! And we broke more records throughout 2002 (mentioning
them all will keep you here all day) We were named competitors
of the year by Rockford Fosgate. |
2005
Our first Sound Quality entry wins 1st place...
|
| Some
said it couldn't be done but we proved them wrong again. The
challenge was to build a bakkie that would not only be a good
demo vehicle but also be competitive in the sound quality
arena. The Mazda Rustler bakkie took us six weeks to complete
and decided to enter it in our first IASCA Sound quality competition
- we got a 1st place trofee for our efforts. This we accomplished
against cars with a much deeper and wider front stage then
the bakkie. |
2006
The year of new beginnings... |
We
added Morel to our product line. Morel, manufactured in the
town of Ness Ziona, Israel, is still one of the best and finest
sound quality products ever produced for the automotive industry.
Unlike 95% of all car audio manufactured, this product is
NOT "Made in China" and is therefor not mass produced.
Zapco, renound for their state of the art signal processors
and amplifiers, is also one of the most saught after amplifiers
today used in the finest sound quality cars around the world.
Zapco won best overall IASCA 2005 World Finals.
We
make use of the Termpak software design program to make sure
that all our subwoofer and midbass-driver enclosures are 100%
to spec so you can benefit the full potential of your subwoofer
or midbass-driver. |
